Hello, let me introduce myself.  (That’s me on the right!).

I am friendly, approachable, open-minded celebrant from Torquay. I am truly interested in providing an excellent, personalised service to my clients.

I was awarded a Certificate IV in Celebrancy through Life Skills Training, a Registered Training Organisation that provided fantastic opportunities to learn directly from industry leaders.

A previous career in social work strengthened my listening skills, and deepened my respect and understanding for others.

I am an experienced public speaker and executive member of Geelong Toastmasters Club.

My partner in life, and number one fan, is Kym (that’s her on the left!). We became civil partners in 2006 in a registry office in Stratford Upon Avon in the United Kingdom. Then in 2014, the British law changed, and we made a trip to the UK to convert our civil partnership to a marriage.

This experience of being one of the first cohort of same sex couples to be married in the UK influenced my decision to become a celebrant. At our wedding we had the outfits, guests, the reception, speeches and cake. It was a wonderful day! However, I felt a distinct lack of guidance in creating the ceremony itself. The ceremony is after all, the only essential part of the celebration and it should be beautiful, meaningful and personal. This has made me passionate about making sure other couples have the opportunity to create their perfect ceremony, and all the help they need to make their ceremony a reality.

This period of my life also saw Kym and I attending, and thoroughly enjoying, a number of friend’s civil partnerships and weddings, large and small, traditional and contemporary, religious and non-religious. It was a wonderful time for same sex couples, as our relationships became legitimised through marriage and we created our own celebratory rituals.

In 2017, after extensive travel, and a period living in Melbourne, Kym and I moved to the Victorian Surf Coast, to begin a new chapter in our lives. We now live in Torquay and all family members, especially the fur babies, consider themselves very lucky to have found such a beautiful place to call home.

With the sea change came a career change. I am now proud to be a fully authorised, full time Celebrant. Whether you are looking for a wedding celebrant or celebrant for other special occasions, I am ready to help you create ceremonies of beauty, meaning and substance that genuinely reflect who you are and that you can look back on with pride.
